Hey Recycling Peeps,
Hope you all have had a great winter. While we are still working on some of the projects we have started with patience, one opportunity for outreach and education in our community that will always be there for us is Earth Day. EARTH DAY! We have been really successful the last few years thanks to all the awesome volunteers that have been involved. It would never have been as much fun without all your enthusiasm. Thank you.
This last week, I've had at least 8 people ask me about this year's Earth Day Celebration. It's true, it's about that time to start the process. As we discussed before, this day has the flexibility for a new and improved focus each year. I feel like we've received a lot of positive feedback with the school program, the re-use competition and the recycling collection. I would love to see more in the way of local business support and think we have a great opportunity to include the Farmers Market/Local Foods crew. We could certainly use some donations for advertising, prizes and misc. materials needed for the day of if you know of an individual or business that might be interested. I would love to hear from all of you on some of your ideas or support.
My goal is to get an article up on Lemhi Web and in the RH next week. Maybe an email reminder invite we can all send you our friends and supporters would be advantageous as well. I would like to have a planning meeting before we make posters. Next week would be great for me to catch up with everyone and get some ideas down. I was thinking Wednesday evening 5:30 p.m. at my house (416 Broadway). You of course are welcome to email me your comments and suggestions if you are unable to make it (amy.tonsmeire@gmail.com) or (salmonriverrecycling@gmail.com).
Thanks and hope to catch up with everyone soon.
Amy
